GSAPP Thesis — Climate-Vulnerable Communities

The thesis surveyed seven informal settlements across the Arabian Peninsula and proposed a kit of low-cost, high-thermal-mass interventions that could be assembled by residents themselves.

It argued that climate adaptation in the Gulf is, first, an architectural problem of shade, mass, and air — and only second, a mechanical one.
