Climate-Vulnerable Communities — Research

Long-running research into architecture for the climate-exposed.

Principal investigator

A continuing study that surveys informal settlements across the Arabian Peninsula and proposes a kit of low-cost, high-thermal-mass interventions that can be assembled by residents themselves.

It argues that climate adaptation in the Gulf is, first, an architectural problem of shade, mass, and air — and only second, a mechanical one.
